The rules have changed, this is now a very different game.
The world at the mercy of monsters who know no shame.
The boundaries blur between friends and foes,
Between politics, ploys and reality shows.
They invoke God’s name but couldn’t be more godless,
Their cruelty plays out on a sophist’s stage.
Ripping up rights and demonising difference,
Winding back the world to the medieval age.

These are the years of control by the great and the bad,
Who now give free rein to the rich and the mad.
No compassion, no moral compass,
Some lives matter, others have no worth,
The grab for power is all-consuming,
No values safe as hate divides the earth.

Nihilism, racism, greed, misogyny, lies.
Politics above the law as the planet dies.
Stoking conflict, making chaos spread,
As the rest see reason and the right sees red.
Schoolyard thugs exacting schoolyard revenge,
Empathy dissolves in their delusional pride.
Aggression versus sense and tech versus nature,
We must stem the rise of this evil tide.
